Lecture Overview:

With the rapid development of the internet and social media, fake news has spread quickly, causing a series of security issues and posing risks to the healthy development of society and the internet. Therefore, the automatic detection and analysis of fake news events have become an urgent problem with significant practical significance. In this presentation, we will first review the current research status of various sub-problems in fake news detection and analysis. Then, we will introduce representative research results we have achieved in this field in recent years. Finally, we will discuss the assistance and profound challenges brought by the emergence of pre-trained large models in solving the fake news problem.

Speaker Bio:

Qiang Liu is currently an Associate Researcher at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research mainly focuses on data mining, information trustworthiness, security of large models, graph neural networks, and other related areas. He has published over 60 papers in top international conferences and journals in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and natural language processing, including NeurIPS, KDD, WWW, ACL, AAAI, and TKDE. His work has been cited over 5000 times. He has received awards such as the CAS Director Award and the Microsoft Scholar Award. Qiang Liu has been responsible for or participated in multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Key R&D Program. He has led collaborative projects with companies such as Alibaba, Tencent, Ant Financial, and JD Finance.
