Report Abstract:
Side channel analysis is one of the key technologies for hardware security evaluation. It reveals secret keys and critical data by analyzing physical leakages such as time delay, power consumption and electromagnetic radiation generated by embedded devices when executing cryptographic algorithms. In this field, modeling-based side channel analysis has become the state-of-the-art attack method due to its accurate security evaluation. Deep learning technology has driven side channel analysis into a new stage of development with its ability to discover the inherent relationships between physical leakages and critical data. By automatically extracting important information from physical leakages during the encryption process and building analysis models, this technology recovers critical data efficiently and accurately. Therefore, deep learning-based side channel analysis can provide strong support for safeguarding hardware security. Based on this, our research focuses on the following aspects: (1) Multileakage regularized autoencoder-based side channel analysis, to reduce noise while preserving good internal data correlation; (2) Unsupervised domain adaptation-based side channel analysis, to realize transfer learning across devices; (3) Electromagnetic leakage-based side channel analysis for Android phones, to crack the software implementation of AES on mobile phones.
