On the morning of April 22nd, the School of Computer and Information Science successfully held the campus selection competition for the 2023 Anhui Province Robot Competition (Single Chip Microcomputer and Embedded System Track). This selection competition involved 8 single-chip microcontrollers, 32-bit embedded CPUs, FPGA soft core applications, Internet of Things systems, and system capability development on 5 platforms. It attracted a total of 161 teams from 8 colleges, including the School of Mechanical Engineering, the School of Electrical and Automation Engineering, the School of Computer and Information Science (School of Artificial Intelligence), the School of Instrument Science and Opto-electronic Engineering, the School of Microelectronics, the School of Physics, the School of Automotive and Transportation Engineering, and the School of Software (108 teams from the Hefei campus and 53 teams from the Xuancheng campus), with a total of 322 participants. The number of participants and the coverage of colleges and majors have reached a new high in previous years.

With the strong support of the relevant functional departments of the school and the leadership of the colleges, the responsible teachers and volunteer students organized the competition carefully. The competition process was orderly, with efficient problem communication, strict competition rules, and fair and just implementation. Within 4 hours, the participating players carefully considered the competition questions for each platform, discussed solutions, and cooperated closely. This fully exercised their computational thinking, teamwork and cooperation, as well as their ability to solve complex engineering problems, effectively implementing the school's integrated talent cultivation model of "moral education, ability-oriented, and innovation and entrepreneurship".

Through this campus competition, the participating students can discover and summarize their own shortcomings, provide feedback on their course learning, and strive to improve their professional literacy and technical level. They truly achieve the learning mode of "learning through competition, teaching through competition, and combining learning with competition" required by the Education Department. I wish the students success in the subsequent provincial and national stages of the competition and achieve good results.
