On the 7^th, our school and Lanzhou Institute of Technology held an exchange symposium in Room A1106 of the Science and Education Building. Li Xiangwei, Vice President of Lanzhou Institute of Technology, Zheng Gang, Dean of the School of Computer and Artificial Intelligence, Nian Yongqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of our school, He Qingling, an organizational staff member at the department-head level, Wang Hui, Vice Dean of our school, Jia Wei, Director of the Department of Intelligent Science and Technology, Li Peipei, Associate Dean of the Department of Computer Science and Technology, and Xu Jing, the scientific research secretary, jointly attended the meeting, which was presided over by He Qingling.

At the beginning of the symposium, Nian Yongqi delivered a speech, extending a warm welcome to the delegation from Lanzhou Institute of Technology. He pointed out that as a counterpart support unit of Hefei University of Technology, Lanzhou Institute of Technology has maintained a good cooperative relationship with our university for a long time, and the friendship between the two institutions runs deep. Subsequently, Vice Dean Wang Hui introduced the overall situation of our school from the aspects of its development history, faculty, discipline construction, scientific research teams, talent cultivation, and graduate employment.

Li Xiangwei shared their university's educational characteristics. Zheng Gang introduced the basic situation of his school and proposed cooperation ideas, including joint applications for scientific research projects, the establishment of a school-enterprise cooperation platform, and assistance in the intelligent upgrading of industries in Gansu Province. Professor Jia Wei highlighted the research directions and achievements of his department in fields such as sign language translation, visual question answering, and image enhancement. The application cases of power line inspection and palm vein recognition in collaboration with the State Grid fully demonstrated the practical value of the scientific research outcomes. Professor Li Peipei introduced the layout of her department in scientific research fields such as digital twin scene modeling, lightweight image super-resolution algorithms, and industrial visual inspection technology. The two sides have a high degree of alignment in research directions such as artificial intelligence, big data, and the industrial Internet, and will jointly tackle key research problems in the future based on the digital transformation needs of enterprises in Gansu Province.

This symposium has laid a solid foundation for deepening cooperation between the two institutions. In the future, both sides will closely adhere to the goal of integrating "industry-university-research-application," focus on breakthroughs in key technologies and the development needs of regional industries, and work hand in hand to inject strong momentum into the advancement of intelligent science and technology and the industrial upgrading of the western region.
