On December 4, 2025, an undergraduate study tour group from Wollongong University visited our university and focused on visiting our school and the School of Economics to carry out a series of exchange activities. The study tour group was led by Millicent Chang, Associate Dean of the Business School of Wollongong University, Kevin Huang, Director of the Accounting Department, and Xueqiao Liu, a teacher from the School of Computing and Information Technology. The group consisted of 16 undergraduate students majoring in computer science and information technology. It is worth mentioning that Xueqiao Liu is an alumnus of the 2007 grade majoring in Information Security of our school, building a profound alumni friendship bond for this inter-university exchange.
The exchange activities were compact and rich in content, covering academic lectures, enterprise visits, scientific research platform visits and other links, effectively building a bridge for efficient communication between teachers and students of the two schools. As the core link of the exchange, the academic lecture was held in Conference Room A706 of our school on the morning of the same day. At the beginning of the lecture, Vice Dean Wu Gongqing delivered a welcome speech, warmly welcoming the visit of the study tour group, briefly introducing the discipline construction and talent training achievements of our university and school, and expressing the earnest expectation of deepening the cooperation and exchange between the relevant schools of the two universities. Afterwards, Wu Gongqing and the leading guests of Wollongong University exchanged gifts and took a group photo, freezing the warm moment of friendly exchange between the two universities. Later, Teacher Ding Dong from our School of Economics and Teacher Tong Qiuyun from our school delivered reports with both regional characteristics and academic cutting-edge nature, triggering a warm interactive discussion between teachers and students of the two schools. Teacher Li Meng from the Information Security major of our school participated in the exchange throughout the whole process.

In the afternoon, the study tour group visited Hefei University of Technology Hi-Tech Information Technology Co., Ltd., a university-industry-research demonstration base with in-depth cooperation with our university. The enterprise has achieved fruitful results in the field of safety-critical industrial measurement and control and has close cooperation with our school. During the visit, an alumnus of Wollongong University in the company served as the interpreter, introducing in detail the enterprise's development history, core technical products and industrial application achievements in the construction of intelligent mines and other fields, allowing the students to intuitively feel the transformation process of cutting-edge technology from the laboratory to the industrial frontline and deepening their understanding of the professional application value.

Subsequently, the study tour group returned to the Emerald Lake Campus and visited the Engineering Research Center of the Ministry of Education for Safety-Critical Industrial Measurement and Control Technology of our school. The center focuses on the research of key technologies for safety measurement and control of major projects, and its achievements are widely used in key fields such as energy and mines. Teacher Qiao Yan of the center comprehensively explained the research directions, core experimental platforms, major scientific research projects and achievement transformation of the center. Teacher Xu Juan of our school accompanied the visit throughout the whole process. The teachers and students of the study tour group listened carefully, asked questions actively, conducted in-depth exchanges on issues such as scientific research innovation and technical application, and spoke highly of the scientific research strength of our school in related fields.

This visit not only made the teachers and students of the foreign university have an in-depth understanding of the disciplinary advantages, scientific research achievements of our school and the development vitality of Hefei City, but also narrowed the distance between our school and the relevant schools of Wollongong University through the alumni bond, laying a solid foundation for carrying out extensive academic cooperation, teacher and student exchange and other activities in the follow-up.
