On the afternoon of December 24, 2025, the 2nd Freshman Programming Competition hosted by the School of Computer Science and Information Engineering was successfully held in the computer room of Building C, Emerald Lake Campus. This competition was open to the 2025 freshmen of the school, attracting 110 students to register and participate.
The competition adopted the form of on-site centralized competition with a duration of 5 hours. The competition questions covered a number of programming problems, and the contestants were required to write codes in C/C++ language. All submitted programs were automatically scored by the online evaluation system, and only the solutions that passed all the test data were regarded as valid submissions, and those that failed would be recorded with penalty time. The real-time feedback system allowed contestants to know the submission results in a timely manner, enhancing the interactivity and tension of the competition.
This competition has several first, second, and third prizes, and the winning results will be recorded in students' second classroom transcripts. The scene of the competition was in good order, and the contestants were focused, showing good programming literacy and competitive demeanor.
The New Student Programming Competition is held with the purpose of "promoting learning and innovation through competition". It aims to guide new students to integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, shift from book learning to hands-on exploration, and build an important platform for students to showcase their programming skills and exercise their logical thinking. The school will hold a commendation ceremony for the winning students in the future, and continue to create a positive and innovative academic atmosphere.
