To promote and drive the development and innovation of robotics, contribute to the rapid and sustained growth of science and technology in our country, enhance the atmosphere of scientific and technological innovation activities in our university, and provide a practical platform for students to understand and participate in artificial intelligence and robotics technology, thereby promoting the development of robotics and artificial intelligence technology, outstanding team members will be selected to join the HfutEngine Robot Innovation Team of our university and further participate in a series of provincial, national, and international competitions, including the Anhui Provincial Robot Competition, RoboCup Robot World Cup China, China Robot and Artificial Intelligence Competition, and RoboCup Robot World Cup.

The Undergraduate Education and Entrepreneurship Office, School of Computer and Information Science (School of Artificial Intelligence), and School of Software will organize the "20th Robot Competition of Hefei University of Technology" for undergraduate and graduate students across the university.

I. Competition Projects and Contents

Content:

The competitions for RoboCup Simulation Soccer 2D and RoboCup Simulation Soccer 3D (specific rules can be found at http://robocup.drct-caa.org.cn/) involve programming intelligent agents to control players on a simulated soccer field according to the laws of soccer matches. 2D is a two-dimensional one, while 3D is a three-dimensional simulation environment. Each participating team will conduct related development based on training and compete for the competition rankings through confrontation matches.

Artificial intelligence innovation and robotics innovation use artificial intelligence or robotics as carriers to explore technical application creative solutions with specific landing scenarios, such as the application exploration of robotics technology in industries such as industry, agriculture, medical care, culture, education, finance, transportation, public safety, daily life, and public welfare. Innovation competitions require the submission of relevant competition materials by the competition rules of the national competition organizing committee (http://www.caairobot.com/), which will be scored by experts and recommended to the provincial competition organizing committee.

III. Competition Procedures and Schedule

1.Registration Period: March 5, 2024, to March 12, 2024

3.Technical Training: Participating teams for RoboCup Simulation 2D and RoboCup Simulation 3D should bring their laptops to Room C501 of the Science and Education Building at Feicui Lake Campus for system installation and environment setup. Relevant learning materials and tutorials will be provided in the QQ group, and teachers and critical members of the competition will arrange online technical training on robot soccer for registered students. All registered team members in the QQ group will be notified of the specific training time.

4.Material Submission: The deadline for submission of works for RoboCup Simulation 2D and 3D teams is early April 2024; the deadline for submission of competition project materials for artificial intelligence innovation and robotics innovation is April 20, 2024. Materials should be submitted to the official website of the national competition http://www.caairobot.com/ and 3229830097@qq.com.

5.Competition Time: April 2024 (specific time will be notified separately)

IV. Rewards

First, second, and third prizes will be awarded based on the number of participants (10% for first prize, 20% for second prize, and 30% for third prize). After the finals, an award ceremony will be held to present certificates to the winning teams, and the results will be recorded in the second classroom.

Excellent participants will have the opportunity to join the HfutEngine Robot Innovation Team and be selected for the Hefei University of Technology Robot & Intelligent Technology Innovation Base (Room C501, Science and Education Building, Feicui Lake Campus); they will participate in various provincial, national, and international events, including physical robot and simulated robot competitions.
