In order to enhance the atmosphere of scientific and technological innovation activities within our campus, promote the level of information security knowledge among our university students, cultivate their innovative abilities, collaborative spirit, and the academic style of integrating theory with practice, as well as provide a practical platform for students to understand and participate in the information security competition project contest, the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education of the Undergraduate College and the School of Computer and Information will organize the "2024 University Information Security Competition - Project Contest" for all university students. The following are the details of the competition:
I. Eligible Students:
Full-time undergraduate students at our university.
II. Competition Content:
The competition content is primarily focused on information security technology and application design, including but not limited to the following areas: cryptographic algorithms, security chips, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, network security, data security, e-commerce and e-government system security, VPNs, computer virus protection, etc. Competitors are required to propose their own topics based on the competition content. Generally, these should be practical problems appropriately simplified from engineering technology, considering the essential teaching content and cutting-edge disciplines, aiming to assess participants' ability to use fundamental knowledge for engineering design, along with their innovative spirit and teamwork skills. Only defensive topics are accepted; any issues with an attack nature or those that violate national laws and regulations will not be permitted. Suppose the proposed topic and content by a participating team violate the spirit and rules of the competition. In that case, the expert panel has the right to request modifications, and approval is needed before participation in the competition. Competitor works must be original designs and developments independently completed by the team members, and plagiarism or theft is strictly prohibited. Any discovered instances of plagiarism or theft will result in the disqualification of the participating team and accountability of the involved instructors and students. The intellectual property rights of the competing works belong to the teams, and any organization or individual is strictly prohibited from infringing upon these rights. Competitor works must not merely be design schemes but must include complete hardware and software products.
III. Competition Format:
Teams compete by submitting design reports, PPTs, software, physical objects, and other materials.

IV. Competition Procedure and Timeline:
Registration period: From now until June 9, 2024.
Registration method: Use your student number, name, and major information to join the QQ group: 1039650021 (real name required).
Competition date: June 12, 2024 (Wednesday) from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Review format: The school will organize experts to review the finalists' works, with specific details to be notified separately.
Competition venue: To be notified separately.
Registration fee: No fees will be charged to participating students for this competition.

Registered teams need to submit the required materials on time. Please pay attention to announcements in the group for registration success.
VI. Awards:
This competition will have several first, second, and third prizes, with the exact number of awards determined based on the final number of participants and the quality of work, with a reference ratio of 15%, 25%, and 40%, respectively. Outstanding participants will receive key guidance in participating in the Anhui Province University Student Information Security Competition and the National University Student Information Security Competition.
