As core technologies of new engineering disciplines, big data and artificial intelligence are highly regarded across various industries and professional fields. To meet the needs of new engineering discipline construction, further enhance our university students' capabilities in big data and AI application, data science thinking, practical skills, and collaborative abilities, and foster their innovative entrepreneurship awareness and teamwork spirit while invigorating the extracurricular scientific and technological cultural life of university students and creating a vibrant campus atmosphere for scientific and technological innovation and entrepreneurship, the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education of the Undergraduate College, HFUT Innovation and Entrepreneurship @ Big Data Center, and the School of Computer and Information (Artificial Intelligence College) will organize the "2024 Hefei University of Technology Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Application Competition and Anhui Province Preliminary Selection" for all university students. The following are the details of the competition:

Competition Content and Rules

The competition is divided into a big data track and an artificial intelligence track. The big data track includes both on-site competition items and creative competition items. The competition content includes:

Big Data Track

On-site competition items: This includes data platform deployment, big data preprocessing, big data analysis, big data visualization, and comprehensive application.

Creative competition items: Themes include applications of big data and AI in education, the healthcare industry, large model topics, and other industry sectors. For specific requirements, see Attachment 1.

Artificial Intelligence Track

Content includes AI platform deployment, data preprocessing, and AI algorithm applications.

Eligible Participants

Undergraduate and master's students currently enrolled at Hefei University of Technology.

Competition Arrangements

Registration period: May 15, 2024, to May 31, 2024

Competition dates: June 15-23 (see notices in the competition QQ group for specifics)

Competition venue: HFUT Innovation and Entrepreneurship @ Big Data Center (Feicuihu Campus)

Registration method: Interested students should join the competition QQ group: 416759449

Students who need accommodations can apply to stay in the Big Data Technology and Innovation Application Laboratory, using big data and AI software and GPU computing platforms.

Award Setup

Awards will be given based on the number of valid participating teams, with first, second, and third prizes set at ratios of 10%, 20%, and 30%, respectively.
