In order to fulfil the requirements of the "AI+" initiative, discover and cultivate top AI talents, explore new AI algorithms, models, and application scenarios, promote the healthy development of a domestic AI ecosystem, and enhance China's international influence in the field of AI, China Telecom Corporation Limited, in conjunction with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and relevant national societies, is co-sponsoring the "Tianyi Cloud · Xirang Cup" AI Competition for Universities. The competition adopts a two-tier system consisting of provincial preliminaries and a national final. Anhui Telecom is responsible for organizing the preliminaries in Anhui Province, co-sponsored by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. and the Anhui Artificial Intelligence Society, and assisted by the School of Artificial Intelligence, Anhui University. Competition Timeline:

Registration for the Anhui Provincial Preliminaries is now open and will close on November 30, 2024. The competition will take place from November to December 2024, with the award ceremony for the provincial preliminaries scheduled for January 2025. The national finals will be held from March to April 2025.

Eligibility:

Full-time vocational college students, undergraduates, and graduate students are eligible to participate.

Registration Method:

Teams must register on the competition's official website (https://aic.modelers.cn/) and provide accurate participant information.

Participation Method:

Participants can form teams freely and register as a team (team members must come from the same university, inter-major and inter-grade team formation is allowed, with a maximum of 3 students and 1 instructor per team).

Competition Tracks and Topics:

The competition consists of two tracks: Operator Optimization and Large Model Application. Multiple topics will be set under each track, with unified propositions across all provincial regions. Specific topics will be published on the official website. Teams can choose any one topic to answer. The link for track topics and scoring rules is: https://aic.modelers.cn/release.

Competition Format:

The competition adopts a two-tier system of provincial preliminaries and national finals. The current event is the provincial preliminaries, which will be conducted online. The winners will be determined based on the rankings on the provincial leaderboard. The national finals will select outstanding teams from the provincial winners to compete offline. The offline finals are planned to last for 2-3 days, with the specific dates to be announced separately.

Technical Support:

The organizing committee will provide each successfully registered team with a free 8-card 910B computing resource. Technical support will also be provided for the competition platform, computing platform, and question-answering platform.

Award Settings and Ceremony:

Awards for the Anhui Provincial Preliminaries: Each track will have 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 3 third prizes. Each winning team will receive RMB 20,000, RMB 10,000, and RMB 5,000 respectively, along with award certificates. The award ceremony is planned for January 2025, with specific details to be announced separately.

Awards for the National Finals (selected from provincial winners, with a total of 100 teams advancing to the finals across both tracks): Each track will have 1 gold prize, 2 silver prizes, and 3 bronze prizes. Each winning team will receive RMB 200,000, RMB 100,000, and RMB 50,000 respectively, along with honor certificates. Additional awards include Outstanding Organization Awards for provincial regions and universities, as well as several individual awards.
