Notice on the Evaluation of Newly Added Graduate National Scholarships and the Second Dean's Scholarships for the School of Computer Science and Information Technology in 2024

In accordance with the "Notice on Adjusting the National Scholarship and Grant Policies for Higher and Secondary Education" (CaiJiao [2024] No. 181) and the school's "Notice on Conducting the Evaluation of Graduate National Scholarships in 2024," the following arrangements for the evaluation of newly added graduate national scholarships and the second dean's scholarships for the School of Computer Science and Information Technology in 2024 are hereby notified:

I. Evaluation Schedule

November 1st - November 3rd: Students are required to fill out the "Application and Approval Form for Graduate National Scholarship" (Attachment 2) and the "Declaration for Graduate National Scholarship Application" (Attachment 4), and submit them to the school along with other required materials (the deadline for submission is 17:00 on November 3rd. Materials submitted after this deadline will be considered as automatic disqualification). Please submit the hard copies to Room A1101 of the Science and Education Building, and send the electronic versions to the email address: computer_graduate@163.com. The naming format should be: Name + Student ID + Master/PhD + National Scholarship Application.

November 4th - November 6th: The school will compile, organize, and review the application materials, and organize the applicants to participate in the defense (specific location and time will be notified separately).

November 6th - November 12th: The school's National Scholarship Evaluation Committee will convene a working meeting to review and approve the recommended candidates for the national scholarship, and publicize the results (with a public notice period of 5 working days).

II. Evaluation-related Instructions

New Quotas:

Master's National Scholarship: 11 candidates

New PhD National Scholarship: 3 candidates will be selected from among the recipients of the Dean's Scholarship awarded in September 2024, with a re-evaluation for the second dean's scholarship for 3 candidates.

Submission of Materials:

Hard copies of Attachments 2 and 4 should be submitted in duplicate, and other attached materials should be submitted in quintuplicate, along with one electronic copy.

All academic and research achievements and awards must be supported by proof, such as copies of competition award certificates, proof of CCF recommended journal classifications (A, B, C categories, Attachment 6, with Tsinghua and Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications standards as references), explanations of school-defined 178 papers (Attachment 9), etc.

All proof materials must be provided in electronic format for easy access. All valid materials for this evaluation must be from before September 20th, 2024.

Defense Session:

Students will present a PPT on their academic research, practical experience, and award-winning achievements during their studies.

The defense experts will ask questions based on the students' presentations.

The defense will be conducted openly, with a total of 6 minutes per person, including 3 minutes for personal PPT presentations and 3 minutes for expert questioning.

Notes:

Applicants who have previously received the graduate national scholarship or dean's scholarship cannot include the research achievements used for their previous awards in the application materials for this scholarship.

Research achievements without proof materials will not be considered.

Applicants who falsify materials or are found to have engaged in academic misconduct during the evaluation process will be disqualified from all award evaluations during their graduate studies, including the graduate national scholarship, graduate academic scholarship, and outstanding graduate awards, and will be held accountable for academic misconduct.
